LIBRARY

Our library is a valuable resource offering all of our pupils opportunities to select books, to
participate in story time sessions and generally learn about library classification and research.
Our aim is to teach children to read independently and to develop an enthusiasm for both fiction and non-fiction literature. We employ a mixed approach to teaching reading. Fundamental to this is the provision of high quality reading materials whether they are reading scheme materials or "real‟ books. We have recently reviewed and updated all our reading stock. Each child has a home school reading diary and we invite you to write in this daily/weekly. This is useful in terms of positively encouraging children whilst also ensuring open lines of communication between home and school.

Our Library is open at the end of the day on Monday evenings, from 3.30pm till 4.15pm for children (accompanied by their parents) to borrow books and use the computer facilities. Please speak to our librarian Miss Seth for more information.
