Evening of Song
Glade Primary School held their annual concert 'An Evening of Song' last Thursday, 20th June which was National Clean Air Day. The theme of the concert was Clean Air and Respecting our Environment.
The concert, now in its 9th year, is the coming together of all our choirs - children, staff, community choir, our newly formed boys’ choir 'The Gladeiators,' a boomwhacker group and also the recently formed youth choir ‘True Voices’, a singing project funded by the Lord Mayor of London’s Culture Seeds.
Musicians comprised of family, teachers and other members of the community.
The hall was decorated reflecting this theme including a beautiful massive painting of endangered species painted by local artist Jason Rose.
All in all, it was a very joyful evening with a very serious and important message.
Our audience enjoyed songs such as Big Yellow Taxi, A Million Dreams, Saltwater as well as songs written by Music Teacher Davida Robinson and Jason Rose entitled 'For Every Child' (This had been performed at Unicef's Christmas Concert as Westminster Hall) and 'Breathe' (which had its debut at our recent Air Action Assembly attended by MP Wes Streeting, The Mayor of Redbridge and other dignitaries.)
Over £520 has been collected from the concert and the recent Soccer Aid activities which Is for Unicef Uk.
