It was encouraging to see children proudly sharing their work with everyone at the tea. Jaiden said he wants to become a Head teacher when he grows up (so, watch this space!)

Year 1
In Year 1, we start by investigating ‘Terrific Traditional Toys,’ creating our own version of some of them during our lessons whilst comparing them to our own, followed by an exciting visit to the Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood. In Maths we look at ways of recording our favourite toys and pets through tallying and bar charts.
In the Spring term, we go deep ‘Into The Woods,’ exploring the woodland habitat and animals around the school. We also find out about different homes, then and now, spending a day enjoying Valentines’ Mansion. We get creative and investigate ways to make 2D and 3D shapes.
Our Summer term is full of ‘Animal Magic’ from farm animals to safari animals. We finish the year with a magical visit to the zoo. In Maths, we use lots of language for sequencing as we give directions for moving around common places that we visit along with, instructions for looking after our pets and/or friends.
